Unhappy Rear Engine Coolant Leak?

My 92 Lincoln Town Car 4.6 is leaking antifreeze out of the Transmission Bell housing? Is this common to happen with a sparsely driven car? Approximate 80,000 miles? My guess is a rear core(freeze) Plug? What do you think?

Re: Rear Engine Coolant Leak?

Yup, there are 2 fifty cent piece size plugs on the back of the engine. I know this bc I had the same problem a few years back. When I decided to replace my torque converter, I pulled the flywheel and saw it leaking. Since I was replacing that one, I did the, all including the ones by the started. I also ran a water hose threw the back of the engine so it would flush all the crap build up from electrolysis threw the starter plug. Good luck..
