Re: Surging Problem

Check fuel pressure, how old is the fuel filter, for starters. Post engine next time around please, and service history, for any definitive help.

Re: Surging Problem

I have the same problem with my 2000 Alero (3400). It surges between about 2200 and 2800 rpm in third gear only. It happens under normal acceleration (generally not under hard accel) or when I hit resume on cruise control and the rpms go through this range.

Re: Surging Problem

Wires, plugs, fuel filter, tried all that. Found another link that suggested the MAF sensor picking up oil from a K&N filter. Will try cleaning that. Not a regular so I did not pay attention to the posting date - apologies for that one. Just got on to search for the problem as it came up.
