code 24
I just bought this 1991 Toyota Corolla for $1 from a friend who needed it gone. 208k miles on the engine. Bad tranny. But I was able to drive it home.
Runs like cr@p. Check engine light code blinks '24' which I find is 24 INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL * Wirings and connectors (Intake air temperature circuits) * Intake air temperature sensor Where is the sender it located? I am unable to find a part replacement matching that name, but did find: Air Charge Temp Sensor Manifold Pressure Sensor (MAP) Any clues? Thanks -Zetan |

Re: code 24
Thank you!
The reason I couldn't find the sensor was it fell out of the air cleaner hole and one of the wire leads had come out of the socket. That was a simple repair. Pulled the EFI fuse to clear the codes and it started up and ran ok. Now on to investigate the rough idle. It revs great, but at idle it chugs like a freight train and smells rich. |
