I have 1996 pontiac grand am starts put stops runing put new key switch and cylinder in . I did the three step key on and off . Same thing starts then shuts off . Had it chack out and two codes DTC U1016 serial communications malfunction and DTC P1629 theft deterrent fuel enble signal not received. Will the bypass or cut wire work . What wire do cut i have three wires one black one white one black@white.

how long did you do the relearn, 10 mins ?

Id double check all the fuses. then if they are ok insert the key and turn to the 'on' position, wait 15 minutes.

Does the anti theft light come on, or flash?
If the light stop flashing or goes out, turn key off(after 15 mins) and wait 2 minutes and then attempt to start engine.
If this doesnt work, it must be either your antitheft module, or your instrument control panel is crappin out.
