Re: Spec V Kill!

I just did some research and stand corrected.
Still, the spec should have pulled.

I dunno about 190, but it would be close. The QR25s are really restricted from the factory. They also seem to have a hard time putting power down to the wheels. Most Spec Vs dyno at around 140-145whp. I think the highest I've seen one dyno stock was around 147 WHP and I've seen some as low as 135 WHP.

Re: Spec V Kill!

How do they lose 45hp from the tranny across two half shafts to the wheels? They even have torque to help push it through..

Re: Spec V Kill!

I have no idea, but I have seen the dyno sheets. They have a really hard time getting that power to the wheels.

Spec V stock 175hp and 180ft. lbs. and weighs only 2,700lbs.
http://research.cars.com/go/crp/feat...7&aff=national

I don't think they'll dyno 135 to the wheels. That's a 23% loss of of horse power which a lot for a car with a manual tranny and a LSD. If it was AWD, Then yes, that's possible.

Maybe the regular SE-R dyneod 135-147 WHP. Those stock 175hp are are automatics.

Re: Spec V Kill!

No, not all the SE-Rs came with autos, they came stock with a 5 speed manual and automatic option. And I have seen the dynosheets showing how little the Spec Vs dyno. I'm not saying all of them dyno that little, that was like one case that dipped that low. Most dyno around 145whp. The 04+ seem to dyno more though. I have this motor in my car, I know what it is capable of. First thing I did was research the shit out of it.

Re: Spec V Kill!

Every SER I have heard take off from the line has MASSIVE wheel hop. I too remember seeing dyno sheets with poor numbers it probably does loose alot of power its possible.

Re: Spec V Kill!

wheel hop doesn't seem to be much of a problem for my car, it's fucking torque steer that kills, I wish I had LSD.

Yeah, I know the SER's came in manuals also. But most people I've seen driving the SER's (current models) were all autos. If it's true that one car dynoed that little that guy should be really pissed. You're right to research the specs and everything on your car. Most people just go by heresay

i dunno about 190 either. Hes got acouple of friends that drive spec Vs and they arent faster. They are fast but they dont beat mine. The only one i lost to was a silver one with custom internals and it runs like mid 13s. We went to the track cause i had to see for myself. But the lack of mods kills the car. My friends tells me their ECU is like over a grand. Sucks for them

Re: Spec V Kill!

i have a 99 prelude and my dad has a 04 spec v. we bought the cars around the same time and we took them to the red lights. the spec v did hop and i feel that's what gave me the advantage. also, i pulled away after hitting 5,000 RPM

Re: Re: Spec V Kill!

I've never had a problem beating the Spec V's. Haven't lost to one so far. I did notice that they are much much better at lower speeds than on top end.

Wow, 2004. Nicely done. FYI don't bring back these dead threads just to start an argument. That'll get you on the right track to a vacation in Banlandia.
