Re: Guess that car game
It's a '78 or '79, nicest one I've seen in decades.
You're next with the photo!

Re: Guess that car game
I was a porter on a used car lot around 1980 and we had a Jade colored '78 Scirocco for a while. It was my favorite car for running errands. I tried to hide it so it wouldn't get sold. Man it was fun.

Looks Italian or British...I have no clue what it is, looks slightly familiar but I have no idea.

Re: Guess that car game
Here's another clue:
It has an Italian body and American drivetrain. |

Re: Guess that car game
Your right! That was payback for those B-pillars dog!
The Apollo 5000GT was designed by an engineer in Oakland who wanted to compete with the likes of Ferrari and Jaguar. The bodies where made by Intermechanica in Turin and shipped to Oakland CA for drivetrain fitment. They were later manufactured in Dallas (renamed Vetta Ventura's) for a while before the money ran out. Cool looking car IMHO. The front end reminds me of a Maserati Mistral. 76 examples still live. Honestly, I thought the E-type tail-light would give it away. Your turn in the barrel ZoomZoom! Last edited by CrateCruncher; 09-03-2009 at 10:12 PM. |
