Re: 1/24 Peugeot S2000 / Fiesta S2000 - Belkits

Love both the Fiesta's they look great..!!! One question about the decals in the WRC version. Why were some of the sponsor logo's printed integral with the background colours..?? For example the white Abu Dhabi printed within the red areas. It makes it very hard for people who would prefer to mask and paint the background colours instead of using all decals...

So you only need to apply 1 color instead of multiple. This was also the case with the Peugeot kit with all the different livery's.

Best regards,
Lesley

Yes I understand that Lesley like I said above. But doing so makes it harder for people who actually would prefer to paint all the colours instead of using decals. There are certain areas on the car that I think would benefit from being painted instead of decalled. One such area being the tailgate (red areas) Complex shape and the depression where the number plate fits would be easier if painted. Also the red areas on the rear wheel arches where the 'Abu Dhabi' logo fits and most definitely the complex decal that wraps around the lower rear bumper. Just my thoughts, but I think they would benefit from being painted so that a better finish could be achieved. Very difficult to follow those curves with decals. Nothing follows a curve as well as paint does....

I agree with you and your arguments, Steve, but am wondering if the color included in the decals isn't due to the control Ford keeps on the product.
Because not including the right color would lead to a lot of different interpretations...
We will have some hard decaling sessions but if finally we have the model more accurate... That will save paint money too and some tries and/or fails

I agree Phil, it will be a tough one to decal for sure. I've no problem with the coloured areas being supplied as decals. I just wish they would have printed them separately from the sponsor markings. Tamiya often include the coloured sections as decals, but more often they will print the sponsor markings on a separate sheet to enable the modeller to paint the areas of colour should he desire. If, as you say, Ford have made them do this in order to keep the colours correct, then that is beyond their control. That may well be the case because I remember earlier in the thread reading that the model was held up and it was an issue with some of the decals. It's not such a problem anyway and certainly won't deter me from buying the kit as it looks fantastic..!!! They must be praised for any new release because rally car kits are a little thin on the ground at the moment. I can't even remember what the last Tamiya rally kit was....

Now that's what I call good news! I was really hoping someone was going to do this for the S2000 car

The problem is that I miss a few logos and some of them I can't see them well and I need them in Higher Resolution at least 2MB per picture in order to make well the logos.

If you really try to find them posting your demands here and there I'm sure you'll find them.
I don't expect more than this to get these decals produced, but the more we'll have on the market the more it will encourage brands to release new models knowing they will cross different modelers expectations.
