Recharge refrigerant 2007 Grand Caravan.
Hi guys.
So, the a/c in the old girl seems to be not as cold as it used to. Still cool, but less so than in years past. My understanding, such as it is, is that my van has R134a as it's refrigerant. Problem is, this is not longer available here in Canada. Instead, we have r12a, which is where the confusion comes in. On the one hand, we're told that it is completely compatible with the r134a refrigerant. On the other hand, we're told that mixing refrigerants is not allowed. Now if this is just some silly government reg, I have no problem ignoring it and mixing away. On the other hand, if it's gonna snokker my cooling system, not so much. I guess mainly I wanna know if others have successfully mixed with good results. I'll assume all replies are hypothetical, of course... Thanks. |
