1997 - Heat but not Hot at Maximum Setting
I have 1997 Sable Vulcan 3.0. Had the infamous no heat problem, and had a radiator and heater core flush.
After doing that, the heat returned, almost hot at maximum. That was three months ago. Now it is January with 18 degree weather. I get heat but even at Maximum it is very warm but not hot. Is this type of heat production typical of this car or do I need to have another flush done of the system and/or heater core. The temperature gauge rises to the safe zone as I am driving the car and stays roughly in the lower third of the gauge. It never drops as the car is running. I also checked the ac heat blend control door mechanism and it works fine as I see the silver lever move completely from one end to the other as I turn the temp dial from cool to max heat. I even sprayed some WD40 on it for good measure. Otherwise the car runs very smoothly. Your thoughts please? |
