Our new fords and holdens pull around the 13 1/2 sec quarter so the new ones are the fastest. In between 1980 and up untill recently with the AU, there was pretty much just a whole load of nothing. Seventies mate, these were the real muscle cars, XY GTs, Phase III's, XA's XB's. The Cobra was a lot to look at, but I don't really consider a muscle car. Old GT's didn't go quite as hard, but that was 30 years ago. You'd think they'd think come up with more than a 20 kilowatt gain in 33 years. Its all the bullshit regulations and political crap that goes on. I say bring out an 11 second HO.

Re: which is faster

The GT now has the same power as the Phase III, around 290+kW but it's unknown but definatly higher than what ford stated when the HO was released.

Re: which is faster

I'm pretty sure that the 351c is the big block and the 351w is a small block.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong

302C, 351C & 400M are all Cleveland-family smallblocks

Re: which is faster

true,
You can have smallblocks with 400+ cubes. But because their smallblocks that have been bored and stroked their still called smallblocks.
It's a grey area.

Where is the grey?

No matter how much (or little) its bored or stroked, any engine is still based on, and inextricably related to, their 'familial' engine block design. Of Ford OHV V8s of the last 40 years, that means either ..

Small block:
Windsor
Clevo

Big block:
FE
385

Re: which is faster

For someone who didn't know it was a smallblock they would think bigblock because of the 400+ cube numbers.
