Ok...that makes sense. With those mods, you'd run most stuff into the ground. Simple, yet effective...gotta love the Z32TT. Stock for stock, it'd be close.

stock for stock....both good drivers. the Z32TT would get eaten. im sorry to say it, eventhough there arent many cars that come from the factory that dont cost $75k plus that will eat a Z32TT, but the EVO VIII is one of the few that will. it easily runs low 13's stock right along side the STI. both cars can get into the 12's with professional drivers.

but yes, with your mods...you should be right along side the EVO VIII and i assume the reason why you left him so bad is because he doesnt know how to drive it. it takes a well trained or very experienced driver to place the EVO in its potential range. its very touchy...

Re: s2000

I found the EVO pretty easy to drive. Gear shift was a bit clunky (and the particular one I drove had some issues with the gear box. 1st made a neat "whirring" noise...), but it wasn't too hard to get it to go. Rev up to 3500 or so and dump the clutch. The only thing that makes it kinda odd at first is going from 2wd to awd...you're used to being touchy and trying not to nuke the tires, so you kinda take it easy. Those cars aren't fast unless they take advantage of the awd by putting ALL of the power to the ground IMMEDIATELY. Once you learn, in essence, to TRY to spin the tires, you're golden.

Oh...and...stock for stock, the Z32TT could run with the EVO with the same driver. It's not quite as hands down as you made it seem...but it is close.

i think its hands down...

the EVO VIII is a very low 13 second car....

and yes i have driven an EVO and it is very simple to drive. but what im saying is that it isnt all that easy to get its potential out. anyone can run an EVO at high 13 seconds and low 14 seconds...

i had a buddy with an EVO VIII that was slightly modified before he totalled it. my buddy went to the track with him that drives a 350z...the owner ran it in teh low 12's all day long. first time the buddy with teh 350z took it down the track...13.2. second time he got a 12.5 and his reaction time was almost dead even both times and he launched at the same 5000RPMs.

the EVO isnt an easy car to get its maximum potential out even in stock form...but it has been tested by so many people and consistently places very low 13's. car testers usually place the 300zxTT in low 14's...its really not a close race at all.

Re: s2000

a stock z32 tt will keep up w/ a evo viii but it will lose, because its so heavy and the power to weight ratio is only about .2-4 higher than the evo... unfortunatly the kid i kno w/ the evo is having a very hard time trying to find staged upgrades for it so i doubt he'll be able to catch me anytime soon

yeah, you can say that i guess but i think it is a pretty distant race...we are talking on average a whole second slower here.

lets compare the 300zxTT to the 300zx N/A...the N/A is a full second slower. now, that isnt a close race now is it...
