Extended Warranty (Lincoln or others?)
Has anyone gotten an extended warranty on their car from Lincoln or others?
My warranty is up next week. Warranty Direct wants $1700 for 5 yrs/100,000 miles and Lincoln wants $3,000 for less time period covered. Thanks, Rhona |

Re: Extended Warranty (Lincoln or others?)
I've got a Ford ESP on my LS. I bought it up front. It's drivetrain only with $0 deductible for 7/100K. Cost was around $800. Shop around. Dealerships mark these up big time and there is a LOT of room to work them down. I don't recommend third party warranties. Getting approvals can problematic to impossible. I had my tranny replaced(don't ask) at 65,000 miles under the ESP and they covered the rental car for two weeks plus the tranny and it didn't even cost me a quater to call them. The service department took care of it. Your call. I can tell you that major failures are VERY rare. I've heard of only one other tranny failure, both were due to abuse, and two engine failures. Both engine failures were "infant mortality". Manufacturing defects that caused failure within 20K or so... I belong to LLSOC (www.llsoc.com) and we hear from LOTS of LS owners....

My warranty is also expiring soon. Glad you asked the question. Would be interested in the quotes you receive. I am also shopping around.
