Silhouette remote door locks

After replacing dashboard, remote door lock system does not work. Key fob tests ok. Doors lock by using key in one door locks all.
I went through the procedure to get the side sliding door reset and that works, but not form the key fob.
Any insight apprieciated. Thanks

Re: Silhouette remote door locks

Do the door locks work with the door lock switches in each front door?

Yes, both door lock switches work to lock all doors and if I use the key it also locks/unlocks all.
I was an auto tech years ago in Plymouth Mass. You can have that cold weather.

Re: Silhouette remote door locks

Ok, the fact the doors lock/unlock with the door switches and the lock cylinder, indicate the BCM is ok....

Question is, is the BCM receiving a signal from the remote control door lock receiver....

You checked the signal from the fob with the RKE tester?

Does your fob have a RED emergency button? If yes, does it work?

If it does, it is possible your fob is out of synch... Press and hold BOTH lock and unlock buttons at the same time, for a minute or until you hear the horn chirp.....then see if the locks work....

Was the fob ok, before the dash was replaced?

Also, exactly what do you mean the dash was replaced? Just the cluster? The pad? The whole dash? Exactly what?

Re: Silhouette remote door locks

The FOB worked before. I removed cluster, radio, controls, pad etc. etc and replace a/c / heat components.
Holding both buttons does not work. I tested the FOB at the local parts store and it said it was sending signal. Don't know or have an RKE tester
I am out of touch with newer tech, as I am over ten years retired from industry but still do my own repair work.

Re: Silhouette remote door locks

Just go to ANY GM Parts Dept., and they can test your fob with an RKE tester, to make sure that every button on the fob is working....

Since everything was working before, are you absolutely sure that you reconnected everything that you previously disconnected? Especially the remote control door lock receiver?

Re: Silhouette remote door locks

Quite sure everything is reconnected. I crawled under and check as much as I could to be sure all were reconnected. Do you happen to know where the receiver is located/identified? I think it mounts to the dash frame on the upper dash kick panel on drivers side.

Thanks for all your input.

I thought it was on the passenger side, above the glove box.....but that is just a guess......

Re: Silhouette remote door locks

Thanks to all. I think I am just going to live with using the key like in the old days. The key unlocks all doors electronically.
