Re: Please help me
sorry let me correct myself, they gave me the wrong hub ring and i guess that had to do with it shaking at 60, now it doesnt shake, it feels a little bit bumpy at like 75, i guess that just the road though, but i still get that obnoxious hum, it sounds like they are rubbing against something. my neighbor said its because of the thickness of the tires, my stock tires are 205's and these ones are 235 i believe, he said it might be the sound of the air hitting the tires, but it doesnt make sense, i gets louder when i am slowing down. i dont know if i knew it was gonna be this much of a head ache i would have just left the old rims and tires on

Re: Please help me
i think i might have found the problem, i think the back two tires are rubbing. They are really close to the springs, like i can barely put my finger thru the gap. and i felt behind it and there is not much clearance back there either. so close i think it rubs when i drive.. how can i be positive? could i be right?

Re: Please help me
U should be able to see the marking of the tire if something is rubbing it. You might also want to upgrade to at least an average quality tire, that might improve the humming as well.

Re: Please help me
ya, you have 2 different problems here
the humming is because Wanlis are cheap tires and hum when you drive on them. The shaking is because they aren't balanced properly I doubt they're rubbing on your springs, you'd smell it.

Re: Please help me
Two simple tests:
1. take a tire off the car, and look it over. If there is any rubbing, you will see it (marks, wear) on the tire's sidewall. Note: make sure you keep track of the centering (hub) ring. 2. Drive over a changing road surface, like rain grooves, and notice if the humming changes pitch. If not, or you hear a different humming, look into it more. |
