Miura Concept car released today

The Miura Concept car was released on LA Auto Show today. Mybe I should try a conversion when I recieve the Hasegawa kit from HLJ :-)

BTW: Hope this retro concept get produced like the new Ford GT.

There is more info on another forum (a forum about slotcars) but I remember reading that its not legal to link to other forums, so you have to find it yourself.

Re: Miura Concept car released today

It's nice (but not as nice as the original), but why? I don't get this, the new stratos, the new Ford GT, the new 'Mini' or any thing Jaguar have released in the last 5 years. Can all the car makers stop living on past triumphs, admit it's the 21st century, take a chance and make something outrageuos. It's worked for TVR and Pagani...

Just my

I love the original (one of history's all-time perfect designs), this is okay but it's no improvement and I expected to see something a bit more forward-thinking. It's cool...but dammit I'm tired of retro

I agree only partially with you: right for something outrageous but to me newmini & newbeetle are two milestone on the car design hystory or better on the "fashion design history", and for others, well I don't understand a reason to make it, also for miura.

Re: Miura Concept car released today

of all of the premium car makers out there, lamborghini are one of the few that are lucky enough to be able to make a car that can be 100% different from the last car they made and have it looked upon as a stand-alone thing with only the feintest comparison/reflection with past models.
why on earth are they even considering this?
take the 'concept' (rwd, transverse-mid engined) by all means but do you have to make it look like a bad copy of the original?

Re: Miura Concept car released today

I hate this concept so much...it's equivalent to taking a dump on the original Miura, nasty design IMO.

They should base the design on the original but make it look different like the brilliant way they did the Murcie, which is just an incredible design update.

Re: Miura Concept car released today

well..... it's supposed to look like a modern re-drawing of the original miura (which you could say insipred the two taht you mentioned). instead it just looks like a bad copy, as i said before.
scary thing is, i'm sure I've seen a small clay model of this knocking around lamborghini design studios last year. I heard that they are wanting to create a 'purer' and faster flagship ahead of the murcielago but i really hope that they don't go with this design.
i know that as it stands it's just a concept and that as such, it is missing a hell of a lot of actual detail but it's still not quite right when we look at the murcie and the gallardo.

to me, it just doesn't make sense to make a two steps back, just to hang on to the name Miura.
