Does it have to be a lowrider kit to start with.Or can it be a regular kit customized into a lowrider?

Why not? Alot of people make hoppers and dancers out of the AMT line of Impalas, AMT doesn't make specified lowrider kits besides the Monte Carlo and the Riviera. Antonio is doing an AMT Electra, it isn't a specified lowrider kit.
