Re: 2000 pontiac grand am no fuel to motor
Before you did any of those replacements, you should have checked for power and ground in the fuel pump circuit, in the harness to the fuel tank....did you do that?
If you have ground, but no power(when you turn the key to on, should have power for 2 seconds....when cranking, should have constant power...use a test light to test), next place to look at is the fuel pump relay circuit...is the relay getting power? Is it getting a ground signal from the PCM...are all circuits to it and away from it ok? |

Re: 2000 pontiac grand am no fuel to motor
The PCM was blowing fuses? Who diagnosed this, you or a garage?
Did they program the new computer? Will your vehicle start if you spray carb cleaner into the intake while cranking the vehicle over? You have no fuel pressure at the schraeder valve on the fuel rail? Then remove fuel pump relay, turn key to on(don't crank), and insert a paper clip into one of the holes for the relay terminal, with a test light attached to ground, check for power.....check all 4 holes...should be power on only one.....that is from your f/p-inj fuse, terminal 87....with relay out you want to run a jumper from term 87 to term 30, this will give you power on the grey wire to the fuel pump.....so with your jumper in place, and the connector to the fuel pump back together, try starting the car.... Note: if you don't know how to figure out which hole is term 30, post back and I will tell you how....if you send power to the wrong terminal, you could blow the fuse or possibly damage the PCM.... Another possibility, is the UBEC...underhood bussed electrical connector...fancy term for the whole fuse block that your relays and fuses insert into.....could have a wiring problem in it... |
