Kia Soul 2012 6 speed (Base model)
i have a Kia Soul 2012 6-speed (base model); bought it in Nov. 2011. i had an aftermarket cruise control installed thru the dealer (they sent it out to another auto. place)
within the last week my malfunction light has been going on intermittently (orange light). took it to the dealer today (diff dealer from the one i bought it from)-they said it might be the aftermarket cruise control-it's hard wired into the accelator-that it is affecting the circuit resistance. they said it wasn't installed properly; they cut & butt instead of piggy bank it. i think i am explaining it OK. if it was the cruise control wouldn't the light have showed up sooner? what else could it be? any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. many thanks! |

Tooth Fairy, possibly one of the connections may have loosened up over time. By malfunction light do you mean the CEL light?

Tooth Fairy, you are plenty helpful, by connections I mean anyplace where they tapped into the factory wiring to add an accessory, sometimes butt connectors lose contact due to time and vibrations and cause intermittent problems.
