The speed 12 hasn't been top speed tested yet but is widely claimed to be around the 240mph mark even if this was hit (which im sure it will be) it's not yet a production car so wouldn't set any new records.

Also i'm sure that the Rockingham curcuit is more than a capable place for TVR to show the potential of this awesome machine (where Tiff Nedell got 214mph out of the MacLaren F1 on road tires) and reach these amasing record breaking top speeds

There's still doubts from TVR weather this will go into production at all and they're still only "registering interest" in the cars at the moment (my interest is well and truely registered!!) adnt rying to buy one of the used race versions (used in the british GT class) is impossible i've been trying for over 6 months and i'm only 40 miles away from the TVR factory.

the price (if produced) is set to be between £160000 - £180000 (around £215000 after tax i think) which could of been a hell of a lot higher for a machine of this standard (still not cheap though)

I will get one of these one day i swear it!!!!!!!!!

I've e-mailed the guy selling the Speed 12 but not heard back from him yet

Hopefully if the car he has is the one that was used in the GT championships he should have the older style body kit too although in all the photo's he's posted it's got the new Ceberra style front shame really as the older more aggresive style is so much better!

oh well here's hoping!

I sort of figured that but in his ad the guy says the car ran from 2000 - 2002 i'm sure 2000 and maybe even 2001 they ran the old body so he might (hoping) still have it lying around some where otherwise that's my next great task!! and that's if the guy even bothers getting back to me!

why cant this be a whole lot easier and TVR just sell me a prototype...

well i solved my mystery.. the car i posted (white and blue) is the Speed 12 GT1.. and the car that is for sale is the Cebera Speed 12 GT2.. my lucks well and truely out although the GT2 is still one hell of a car and im trying to find a copmany that can recreate the old GT1 body kit so i can get it fitted (any one know a company that could do this would apreciate some help)..

the cars up for £120000 (+vat) and again it's the GT2

i suppose if i was being sensible i'd say it the engine and engineering that makes this car not the gorgeous GT1 style but i guess if i was being sensible i wouldn't want a Speed 12 at all!!!!!!

Here's a pic of the GT2 so you can all play spot the difference... aint hard all the agression's gone out of this one.. this is the one you are most likely to pass on the street though as it's one being produced..

the only differences between the GT1 and the GT2 is the body work.. just take a look at the 2 photo's pasted on here.... the GT1 (white and blue) is by far more aggresive, sharper body lines.. this car's looking for a fight.. the GT2 (purple one) is the later rendering when they decided they will produce it and the earlier prototype was too raw for the street so they made it look like a bigger cerbera (from the front anyway) and what TVR know there customers like.. well most of them the GT1 is by far the best..

Like i said as far as i'm aware other than that they both share:

7.7 litre 48 valve V12

800bhp

650lb ft of torque

and just 1070kg

(MacLaren being 70kg heavier and 173bhp less!!!)
