EF FORD ES Fairmont 1998

Sir
I'm am replacing the Ignition barrel an key but can not get engine to crank.Is there a procedure to follow

Use a 12 volt test light and check if the small wire to the solenoid is getting power when someone else is trying to start the car. Check for power to the solenoid if good does the other side to the starter gets power when the solenoid is energized. You could also have a bad starter. Some Ford solenoids have two small wires if this is the case try each one. If no power to solenoid I would suggest the ignition switch on the steering column with a rod from the key switch. Remember these can be adjusted mount the new on the clean spots so it in the same place as the old one.
