Hey Bil,

great that your're here, I have one more question about your McLaren , do you placed all the photoetched nuts, bolts and washers above the original mold in plastic ones (for example on the valve covers) or do you removed the plastic ones?? And how do you glued all the tiny photoched nuts, bolts and washers? super glue, kristal klear or something different?

many thanks

In some cases, yes, the photoetch bolts went over the exisiting plastic ones and some were not. There is over 550 photoetch nuts, bolts and washers on my MP4/6, so I really can't remember which one was which way!!! I use CA to glue then all down...As a side note, I barely used any of the Perfect Parts nuts, bolts and washers. Mostly Model Car Garage, Scale Motorsports and Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland.

Thanks Bil, that was exactly what I thought.

Ok but now back to the progress, as I said in my first post, I started on the engine. I removed the mold lines and cleaned some of the engine parts. And I primed them yesterday but I'll have to do some more sanding because I simply forgot some mold lines Anyway, here are the first pics of the Honda Engine

That engine will be a whole model in itself.

You make me wanna start my Ferrari 641/2. Wow, those F1īs from Tamiya are just awesome. I want to see especially engine details. So go for it and keep your enthusiasm up!

This is gonna rock

Best of luck with the build, it'll be interesting to see how long it takes!!!

I do hope you've ripped up your social calendar, sent the kids (if you have any) to grannies for a year and taken a year's vacation!

little update
honestly said only some more pics of the primed engine

I am in love with that engine, even in white...

But as you can see there are still some things that have to be improved...

And I almost forgot to say that this will be the car no.1 of Ayrton Senna!!!

Looks great.. Do you pre-drill all the holes before painting (sprak plu wires, connectors, etc)?

I shall be watching this thread.. This is a awesome kit, and you have got some great detail parts to really make it a super detail build.

Can't wait, and it looks to be off to a good start.. Engine will look awesome once you get it completed.

Peter, you continue to confound me. This is a thread about the McLaren MP4/6. So why are you posting pics of random Ferraris and Honda V10s?

Maybe, but pictures are a different matter.
Or are you not aware that the MP4/6 was powered by a Honda V12?
