Nissan 240RS rally

Hello guys !
I start a new project for production.
It Nissan 240 RS Group B rally.
I think it's the only car of the legendary Group B, which is not released in a plastic or resin kit.
I think it would be a full complete set of resin.
Will Monte Carlo Rally 1983, Timo Salonen.

That's what will be used:

From the Skyline will be used chassis with front suspension and engine. Certainly two of the cylinder will be removed. at Skyline 6 cylinder engine, and I need a 4 cylinder.
I began to change with the body.

The rear bumper was cut off. It will be a separate part.
I started doing the back panel, because some of it will be visible. And so I'll do the new taillights.
And just as the lower part of the rear fender to be changed.

Re: Nissan 240RS rally

Hello Romik!!!

Wonderful project, and your driver choice is perfect, Salonen drove very impressively against Group B Turbo-4WD beasts.

I believe that you would find better engine base from this kit:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AOSHIMA-1-24...309373#vi-desc

It's a FJ20 engine in that kit, but I have understood that it is same as FJ24 of RS240, just a bigger bore. At least the valve cover is identical.

Good luck with your project!

Re: Nissan 240RS rally

Hello .
Spede , Thank you for the link. But there is a turbo engine. And the Skyline engine has the correct intake manifold. I compared the photos, the engine from Skyline very similar, but the extra two cylinders.
I will make pictures in the evening.

Allrighty, just googled some pics of Skyline's engine and you're right. It really looks same, just two sylinders more. Probably japanese have used same base engine for 6- and 4-syl. engines.

Re: Nissan 240RS rally

Wowowowwww !!
This is probably my most wanted Group B except a correct complete 205 Turbo 16 Evo2 so you can imagine how much I will follow this new project and want the model !!
I personaly would prefer 84 season car, slightly different livery but a bit nicer to me, and cars became left hand drive during the season.
But 83 or 84 you may get success with it.

I am sooo up for this.

I think these will fly out the door - I'd make a lot of them if I were you...

Yes Phil, I think you are interested in this version of the car.

There are some difficulties with wheel .
For the 1983 Monte Carlo I know that I can use .
In 1983, Salonen vehicle was a for left-hand drive. And the other cars were right-hand drive. The photo team in New Zealand in 1983. It can be seen at the location of the wiper

Timo Salonen , Monte 1983

But this is preliminary, possibly in the process there will be new ideas

How about optional parts for LHD and RHD cars? I'd like the '83 Pond Corsica car myself.

Yes Roman, I'm mostly interested in the 84 season car, MonteCarlo, Corsica or Portugal version... or another one
there also was a Private car in Portugal 85 (?) with "Lois" sponsor over black body, could be another one to release.

For the wheels I may have a solution because as you know I already worked on the car too, so I thought about the wheels question.
Will let you know it soon.

Do you think 83 and 84 season liveries could be done on same decal sheet ?
don't want to insist but...
