Getting a '94 318is that's been sitting

A friend's mom is giving me her '94 BMW that has been sitting in her garage for 6 years. The exterior and the engine were in great shape when she stopped driving(altogether). I have a list of things that have to be taken care of as soon as I have the car in my possession; however....getting the car to my house so I can work on it is the problem.

I'd prefer to drive the car here but need to know what I'm getting into before I take on that task.

After inflating the tires, replacing the battery, putting fuel stabilizer and fresh gas in the tank, and checking fluid levels and smells...will this suffice to drive the car approximately 10 miles or less?

What should I look out for (tips)?

She really wants her garage back but I don't want to rush the process and mess the car up. The car is a manual transmission by the way. I love this forum and appreciate all the information I'm able to learn from here.
