Re: Lancia 037 with a big difference

I have been watching this build for a couple of months now and I have to say outstanding, the detail you are including is awesome.

I would like to know where you got hold of the Homologation papers, as I wouldn't mind getting hold of a copy for a group B project I have.

Keep going - it's looking really good! The moulded floor looks right at home, too. I always find it really satisfying when the tubes start coming together like that - everything starts to grow! I assume there'll be a similar subframe at the front, too?

All the best,

SB

Hello
I'm glad you like it , you were one of the reasons I started this.
The front will be the same.
Will be a while yet.

Very impressive work, Martin. I saw your post in the machining subforum about a few parts. Send me a PM with some pictures of what you need. Cheers.

Re: Lancia 037 with a big difference

I love this build. Great to see such a great car getting this kind of treatment.

How accurate is the shell to begin with? Tamiya make great RC shells, but also they have to fit generic chassis designs. The work you're doing looks great though, from the tubing to the floor pan.

Looking forward to watching it going forward.

Regards,
Simon

The shell is not to bad. I only could measure it up against the 1/24th scale model as I throught that would be more accurate. It is only mm's out. I'm just having fun and working on my skills as this is all new to me. As long as it looks like a 037 that's good for me.

Nice... I figured later that it's just giant.....

BTW: Hase 1/24 body shell isn't 100% accurate: have a look to Ken's Rally builds to have one idea of the stuff: it is mainly in the front hood area.
