Ideas AXOD Tranny Problem
'89 Sable ... the story ... yesterday driving and suddenly slipped out of gear and engine reved but not accelerating ... like slipped into neutral. Coasted home (downhill) about a block. ATF fluid level is good, and does not smell burned. Engine temp looks okay, only gear that worked was reverse. Put tranny cleaner in today, and appears to engage in 1st now, but does not sound good ... afraid to move it in event it happens again (can't coast uphill), and afraid I will fry the tranny (if it's not already fried). Any suggestions welcome!
