shift knob and windows
1) Any idea why my automatic will shift through n-d3 without pressing the button down? And how do i fix this? I'm afraid that one day that i'm going to shift down to d3 from d4 and that be the end of it any suggestions would be appreciated
2) my passenger window takes FOREVER to roll up...and when it rains it gets stuck...how easy is it to fix this problem? Also my sunroof is getting stuck...i have to push it up while pushing the button...and also push the cover back so it'll move back, what would i have to do to fix this as well?...thanks for the help! - Jenn

Not too sure about #1, but as for #2 it could be a few things. 1. There is a small foreign object in there, 2. Your weather stripping is leaky and the water is causing your problems or 3. The window has fallen off the track a little bit. Even a movment of one CM can cause your windows to malfunction. I'd suggest taking off your door pannel and rolling the window up and down and watching what the bottom of the window does as it goes up. I had a problem with my CRX with its manual windows and all I did to fix it was take off the door pannel and tighten a few bolts.
Anyways hope my info helps -J.R. |

Re: shift knob and windows
#1 Check the owner manual, it's normal. Unless it just completely passes through from N into D3 without a click in D4, then it's a problem. The only time that you need to press on the button is from N > R, R > P, D3 > 2, 2 > 1 and brake pedal need to be stepped on to shift from P > R. Anything else just need to push the lever: 1 > 2, 2 > D3, D3 > D4, D4 > N, R > N, N > D4, D4 > D3.
#2 Your car's window and sunroof motors are weak, and will costs more than a hundred to fix.(A friend of mine has the same problem, and that what's he got.)
