Valentino Rossi's 2000 Honda - Nastro Azzurro

I thought I'd start a thread on my bike.
So far I've got the wheels/tires/brakes finished. I now have the swing arm assembly completed as well. Here are a couple older pics from when I started on it. I will shoot some pics this weekend of the progress on the swing arm assembly. I should also have time to throw some paint on the fairings. Let me know any tips, tricks, comments, critiques... this is my first bike! Thanks,
Erick --

Doesn't look like you'll need any! This is a good kit, so it should present no problems for a modeller of your calibre. The decals for the seat striping can be tricky, but I built mine about 5 years ago when I didn't have so much experience with slightly more elaborate paint schemes. If I were doing this one again (which I will be) I would trim away some of the grey from the blue faded part of the decal. If I had of done this it would have blended better with the grey paint I used. A minor point really.

Here's mine to laugh at!! My first bike kit too.

Good luck and keep us posted.

If this is what your first bike looks like, I can't wait to see more recent ones - its simply amazing! The exhaust heat staining is phenomenal!

Oh yes, this is shaping up nicely. Carbon on the hugger looks great.

More done!! opcorn:

Decals are killing me. I cleared with Tamiya (way too thick, obviously) and they wrinkled like mad. Anyone know where I can find another set??
You can kind of see the wrinkles here.

Otherwise, it is shaping up pretty well.
