Carbs and rebuild

Hey hey,
I'm looking for a pair of webber 45 or 40 DCOEs side drafts.
Any one have any expierence with sidedrafts on an e21?
I have a 78 e21 with 2 liter and a 83 e21 with the 1.8.
Would it be ideal to go with 2.0 or the 1.8 or mismatch or... Please tell me the best combination. or even a different motor/block/head...??
I'd like to build a torquey e21, 180hp at wheels, carbs.
So far I've been working on the suspesion.

Hmm,

Hmm, taking off fuel injection and using carburetors is kind of backwards.

Most people recommending this have never balanced a set of carburetors.

The Fuel injection is not limiting point on a M10 engine.

Use the 2 liter and get a high lift cam, a cenfugal distributor, and a header.

To get the most out of the power available, get a 3.91 to 1 differential.

To counter this lower gearing, install a 5 speed with an overdrive 5th gear.

I do not think on a low compression engine, less the 10 to 1 you will get a hp number over 160.

Later,
