Yamaha YZF-R1 - Tamiya 1:12 [STUNT BIKE]

Hello,
this is my new model which I begin to build Yamha YZF-R1 Taira Racing – Tamiya 1:12

Yamha R1 is quite popular bike so I try to build something different

bike used for such a fun

Stunt Bike

[photos taken from the portal ścigacz.pl and motogen.pl]

I have some own photos taken at one of the stunt events.
This is bike

what I have to change:
- bigger sprocket

- double rear brake caliper

- rebuild rear fairing

- kinked fuel tank

- cut side fairings

- change the location of the front fairing with lights

Standard R1

And this stunt bike

- new handlebar

and also some minor things and traces of intensive use

Wish me luck.

Start work soon.

Nothing interesting at the beginning, some standard work with engine elements

I remove from engine all plastic nut and screw

then some custom work with the engine

Thumbs up Re: Yamaha YZF-R1 - Tamiya 1:12 [STUNT BIKE]

Some idea on the fueltank, do it the same way as they do it in real.

Heat it a little bit and dent is ( in real they just dent it by hitting it).
I love the project and i'm curious how it wil work out.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R1 - Tamiya 1:12 [STUNT BIKE]

Further action with the engine
oil pan

I removed the plastic screws and added the oil level switch

I changed the connection of clutch cable.
Tamiya’s standard

poorly
there is clutch cable holder

lever with spring

I tried to do something similar

Temporary fitting so it does not look good. Finally it will be better.
I have to reduce the two elements because they are too big.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R1 - Tamiya 1:12 [STUNT BIKE]

After swingarm I started doing rear fender

some fillers and primer

white primer and basic colour Gaia fluorescent yellow

I also did some damage

as in the bike on which I was inspired

then I put two layers of clear coat Zero 2k, some polished and I started to learn to do such a thing

after this

this is my first time doing something like that

and swingarm

I also added a little dry black pastels

swingarm with fender

how you like it?
