Hey guys, I am a member of the San Diego Shelby American Automobile Club, and as your Shelby Representative for the Automotive Forums, I am going to start posting all club correspondance in this forum. Track Day stories, Dyno Day results, etc.

Hopefully I can get some Shelby Club Members to register here as well.

Cool Shelby is HERE!

We appreciate your interest in Shelby and its cars. I am the webmaster for http://www.shelbyamerican.com and am also the Shelby American network administrator at their facilities in Las Vegas, Nevada. I think my existence here can be of great benefit to other members. Anyone may feel free to post or email to me whenever they like.

Cool

COOL!

So you've been to the Shelby track days in Vegas? I've been there once with my dad! It was the year when it rained a lot. Sometime around Jan 3-4.

We also go to Willow Springs a lot!

Wasn't there also a Shelby Daytona?

Why do I hear verry little about that car, if it does exist?

I'm not sure I've ever seen one, but for some reason, I believe I know of such a thing . . .

Theres was a Shelby Dodge Daytona in the 80s. Its not as much of a legend as the Cobra though and you don't hear as much fuss about them.

The Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe is my favorite Shelby actually. The reason you don't hear much about them is because there are very few of them to begin with, and even less in existance today.

You may remember the historic races they do at Goodwood in England, and seeing a Shelby there, and what it is, is a replica built in the US and I think Danny Sullivan raced it over there

Yeah, the cobra daytona coupes were racing cars, I'm pretty sure. Today, one will cost you more than a million bucks IF I can remember correctly (I'm kinda iffy on this) I think there only are 4 in the world!

Here's a little story:
The original cobra was Motor Trends car of the century. It is completely unrestored, so it can be a bit rough. But I think its better that way. It is not for sale, but one gentleman offered ol' Shel $5 million in cash for it! He was turned down in a heartbeat.
I will try and get some pics (it will be at least 2 weeks till I get them, figure around June 11.)

I'd love to see those photos.

I think there were 6 Daytona coupes made, and 5 are still in existance.

I think one ran at Goodwood last year and won.

Still, 6 is almost none. I'm as likely to see one drive by my house as I am of having a harem of supermodels pouring out a black hole in my sock and beating down my closet door, all trying to make sweet, sweet kool-aid and love with/to me.

I might be able to get those pics earlier, but they won't be of high quality. The good ones will be along in two weeks
