Hard start, unsteady idle, choppy acceleration
To be diagnosed... '89 Accord LX-i Sedan 2.0L
When starting, my engine cranks once or twice, then stops. I let go and try again, same thing. It usually starts on the third or fourth try. It sounds like it's sticking, maybe? When idling, it seems to be missing a beat. Noticeable vibrations from the engine. Perhaps a spark plug isn't firing, or a cylinder isn't getting fuel. My fuel injectors are only about 3 months old. When accelerating up to about 3,000 RPMs, the acceleration is "choppy." Again, seems like it's missing a beat. Seems fine while cruising at freeway speeds. So, are there any easy explanations that I could check on with only a socket wrench? Where to begin? Let me know if I need to add any more info about the car... [sigh] I can't afford this... |

pull your plugs and check them, aslo pull your distributor cap, and check for vacum leaks.

Most definately sounds like plugs. Or, spark related anyways (so possibly wires too). When was the last time you changed them? They should be done YEARLY. BTW, I was under the impression you drove an S2000?

Thinking back two and a half years, it was my distributor cap.
