hondahottie and i do motor swaps, head tuning, head swaps, valvetrain tuning, tranny swaps, clutches, diff rebuilds, turbo rebuilds, custom turbo installs...

and yes, she can change a light bulb, too.

now she's on the path of learning how to tune fuel injection by computer reprogramming and value/sensor manipulation.

i'm very proud of my girl
Yes, she's better than us who can't, I guess....... ?

It's nice she has someone to learn from.. unlike some of us.

Ummm...when I get my coilovers installed, I'll probably learn how to do that from my friends. My car is still kinda new, remember?

Also help my friends drop an engine in the supra, when they EVER get around to it again

Are you gonna be proud of me when I do that?

Let's see

-A friend of mine and I did my motorswap
-My fiance and I took apart my whole interior (Seats, door panels, dash, headliner, sunroof), then put it all back in.
-I helped the guy who painted my car by tapping, sanding, taking apart the car (i.e. doors, windows, trunk, hood), I helped him mold my bodykit on then sanded that down, and I helped him tape up the flames.
-Installed my intake
-My fiance and I put in my coilovers and shocks
-I change my own oil and spark plugs

Pretty much everything that has been done to my car I have had a part in.

never implied that... but chnging light bulbs doesnt exactly qualify as working on a car, IMO.

and since hondahottie never posted, i thought i'd post it for her.

we have two cars. a 94 accord ex and a 97 prelude. both get our full attention, while one is being raced now and the other will be redied for competition once we get the prelude finished up.

as for learning, it's not necessarily the guidance, as it is the repeated failures and eventual learning from mistakes. nothing can take the place of going to a junkyard and stripping a car just to see if you can do it... then try to put it back together, or at least understand how it all integrates together for a final product. sometimes, the junkyard is good for more than just cheap parts

we work on other peoples' cars, too. considering the size of our solo2 club and the diversity of cars we all drive, it gives us the chance to see the very simply fabricated race only vehicle, to the complexity of a street legal street modified car.

we are currently working on a Prelude, Accord, Datsun 240Z turbo, and a Subaru WRX, all in different classes and different stages of tuning.

When I had my old civic I used to change spark plugs. I usually help my sister change oil.

And yes I know how to change bulbs.

Haven't really had to do any work on my teg, since it came with lots of extras. Most of the tune ups, I've gotten my cousins to do, because I don't have all the tools needed at home, so I watch and learn.

I will be pulling apart some interior dash bits soon, and replacing them with type r stuff.

I agree. You learn more when you get your hands dirty.

Gee Drift.. I remember when I 1st got on PH in 2000, u were mean.. What happened?
(Im not saying I liked it.. )

I agree w EVERYTHING u say... I'd love to be the one ppl come to to get stuff done.. It's just hard when u have no funds.. and no one else's car to work on...and I can't risk fkng up my own playing arnd w it...!
The junkyard thing is a good idea, regarding small stuff... Never thought of that.
