Re: Might buy a disco need help..

Decent trucks, comfortable and practical, but they do need certain work done, especailly at 100k miles.

The SE7 means that it is middle-of-the-road as far as options go, probably doesn't have heated windshield or heated seats, but is of course leather with all other power options. The 7 means it has third row seating, 7 passengers. I'm not positive on that stuff, just fairly certain.

Biggest things on a 100k mile DII are head gasket, every rover will need them, typically around 100k miles. ABS faults, wheel speed sensors and modulators are common issues, but the part of the modulator that typically fails can be rewired so that the mod won't have to be replaced. Transfer case leaks, they almost all leak from just about every gasket and seal, but it's nothing to worry about if you check the level at every oil change. Sunroofs can be problematic as well, usually just as far as leaks go, worst case scenario complete sunroof removal and reseal, takes 6-8 hours for the pair.

I suggest taking the vehicle to in independent Rover specialist for a pre-purchase inspection.

Good luck!
