OEM navigation install

I installed an 05 or 06 navigation in my 03 touareg.. at first it would only produce sound through the speakers for 10 secs or so before coming up with an error "No int. cd". I looked online and found out that i had to take it to the dealer to get it programmed although i had the security code.

Anyways its functioning fine now but wheni go to Info then settings i can't adjust the time or language. they're both greyed out and it won't let me edit them.
I've been looking for the manual but can't find it. Is there a keypress or something that will unlock the greyed out menu items?
