2013 Grand Caravan 62TE - No Reverse

53,000 miles traveled.
o No visible leaks, garage floor clean.
o Engine idles as it always has.
o Temperature gauge just left of center as it always has been.
o 18.4 mpg city driving only, as it is supposed to be.
o New battery starting power as if original.
o All electrical and electronic systems functioning as intended.

• Check engine light on.
• Transmission fluid checked ok as did all other fluids when oil recently changed.
• Gear shift works as intended.
• Shift into reverse and it does shift beginning to move in reverse.
• No increased reverse movement when gas pedal applied, just engine winding.
• Reverse lights come on when shifted into reverse.
• Shifting into lower gear will automatically shift back into drive.
• Drive will shift gears when moving forward.
• Limp mode has occurred but turning van off and restarting goes back to normal.
I read a common problem for the 62TE transmission is no reverse caused by problem with low clutch drum sealing ring lands.
Can a bad solenoid also cause this problem?
Can anything else not internal cause such trouble?
Thank you for any input.
