shudder or bounce

at about 60 to70 mph i get this shudder. i had the tires balanced about 6 times at different shops. but i still get the shudder. i have a 2wd ram 1500, 2003. can any one help ?

A little more detail would be helpful. Do you have larger wheels/tires? How many miles? Does the steering wheel move during the shudder? Is the vehicle still controllable?

My truck does this too sometimes. Its a 94 2wd 1500 with a 318. Fairly new tires with the original rims. About 180,000 miles but the motor was rebuilt at about 172,000 and I put a bigger cam in it. Steering wheel doesn't move and the truck is somewhat controllable, I would describe it as a surge forward.

It just did it to me earlier today when I was accelerating on the highway, when I got to about 60 MPH, was hitting the redline, and it wouldn't shift into second. Backed off the gas and it quit. Could it be the transmission not shifting even though the computer is telling it to?

I don't know. Your symptom sounds like a sensor or something; I'm not sure.

i have 16 inch wheels, 42000 miles, yes it is controllable. the sterring wheel does shake a little thats why i had the tires rebalanced.
i have checked under the truck for any thing loose but seen nothing.

any thoughts???

I'd try rotating the tires and see if it still occurs. You could have out of round tires on the front, especially if you haven't rotated them frequently enough.

alright, I have a 95 1500 4wd it does the shaking thing, also. I was thinking, could it be the driveshaft?
the deal with sandman's truck is the throttle position sensor located right next to the throttle body. my truck does the same thing. it also surges when I am on the highway I find the I can get around the annoying problem by being choppy on the gas to downshift and stay there whan going up a hill. otherwise, it will shift in and out of overdrive everywhere. turn the overdrive off, and it does it in the other gears. the position sensor is about 40$ not too bad.
