018 Headed Is For Auction
It looks 018 (a personal favorite, as far as road cars go) will be changing hands in Monterey next month. RM Sotheby's put up a nice article on both the F1 and 018 specifically: RM Sotheby's - The Ultimate Iteration of McLaren’s F1 Road Car: Chassis 018
An alternate writeup can be seen with the listing: RM Sotheby's - 1994 McLaren F1 'LM-Specification' |

Re: 018 Headed Is For Auction
I had an opportunity to inspect the car last week. It's obviously quite lovely and really not showing many signs of its age at all. Looks are obviously subjective, but I happen to find its spec far more appealing than the sister car, 073.
Pretty hopeful that it will really move the needle next month. The last public sale was chassis 044 which brought $15.62M, so it shouldn't be difficult for this one to exceed that by a wide margin. A number in the $20M range is really what I'd expect for 018 today, so let's hope it achieves that! >8^) ER |
