2007 FIT Unstable after Skid

I have been driving my 2007 FIT Sport for the last 3 years without any problems. About a month ago, I lost control of the car on a highway at 70 mph and skidded a long distance across a very rough median into oncoming traffic. Thankfully, there was no traffic on the other side. Also, I did not hit anything. Since this incident, the car seemed to handle differently, very unstable, especially on wet roads. I have had three different mechanics look at it the very first week after the incident, and everybody brushed the whole thing off saying that it was all in my head. In fact, I believed them since my nerves were rattled by the accident.

However, last week during a routine oil change, my dealer's mechanic said that my alignmnt seemed off because the tires were wearing on one side (all tires less than 3 months and 5000 miles old). So they fixed the alignment and charged me for it. Ever since then, the car has become even more unstable. Every time I hit a pothole at any speed, it lurches to one side. If I hit a pothole in a slight turn (very very slight turn actually), then this effect is even more and I keep having to fight to stay in the lane. On wet roads, the steering seems very loose and its kind of scary to drive in the rain now. I have been trying to avoid hitting a pothole (even a tiny one) when it rains .

I need some advice regarding what might be the problem so that the next time I go to the mechanic, I can maybe point him to a few possibilities. Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated. And sorry about the long post.

Thanks,
KD.
