Engine hatch cover for Porsche Carrera GT

Not sure if this should be posted in the Classifieds thread or not, but I ruined both ''mesh" decals to be used with Tamiyas Carrera GT due to the brittleness causing tears.

I had seen a that there was a company that made an aftermarket verstion of this part that came pre-formed to fit the shape using PE(i think) and doing away with the decal all together.

Does anyone have any advice.

ps I did try forming my own from mesh PE and didnt have much luck

Is this the aftermarket set you're talking about.

By the shape, looks like it has the PE for each half of the engine cover.

I had a really hard time shaping it to the correct shape. I may need to try that again, but there was a company that made the part already in the correct form

Re: Engine hatch cover for Porsche Carrera GT

hey man ,
I remembered that detail part you mentioned , so i browsed through my back issues of TMMI and i Found IT!!!
its from ACU.STION and at the time www.grandprixmodels.com was listed as the supplier (that was 11 years ago). It is ,as you mentioned pre-formed, and only requires trimming and gluing, there is however a slight inaccuracy in the pattern of the mesh- it is square mesh instead of the correct hexagonal.
Anyway good luck with that...
