need help withBMW M1

Hi all

I just got my decals & p/e in the mail from Spot Model to get me on the way with my build of Darniche's '82 Corsica car. Still have to order the proper Elia rims, but need a hand with the seats. Obviously I need to get one for the nav, but the drivers seat also doesn't look right. Does anyone have any refs or info that show these a bit better than what I can see in the photo in 'Rally Cars'?

You can buy The Renaissance ref BAQ24. Take a look at it and make your own idea of it but I think they are correct for the M1 Gr.4 / Gr.B

Hmmm not sure Phil. They look a little modern.
Looking on Spot Model now, the HD Evo3 Sparcos might be a little closer or perhaps the Reji sport seat?

Any thoughts anyone?

Mmm not sure what you call "modern" (??) about the ref I pointed but the Sparco Evo3 precisely are modern seats for sure, at least more than the basic shape racing seats from Renaissance or even Reji.
I'm also refering to the 1/43 kits or transkits I have and the M1 seats were basic ones, so I keep thinking Renaissance or Reji ones are the good match.
Another match could be Tamiya Sierra (?) seats according to the notes I took years ago when listing parts to search for to build mine (83 Gr. B version)

renaissance ref:

Reji seats:

Sparco Evo3:

I really don't think the 24baq look modern compared to the Sparco Evo3 ?!?!
but shapes of each are quite close (closer than reji ones) so if HD didn't detail their seats like the real ones maybe it would do the job...(??)

Thanks Phil. Armed with those pics, I'll go back to the book & see if I can make out any details which come close to either of these. So far that's all I have to go by as pics on the net are pretty much non existent.

You're right, not much reference on the net.

some informations maybe usefull (?) to find pics:
- the M1 was raced by Oreca (I contacted them in 2001, was answered but nothing still in their hands about M1 to help modelers)
- It raced French championship in 84 so there are some pics hidden behind french rally championship events clue words in search engines.
(Lyon Charbonnière, Mont-Blanc, Alpin Behra, Lorraine...)

the hardest about M1 is to find interior pics !
