Zonda news from Hong Kong..
the auto news in last weekend's South China Morning Post talked about Nicholas Tse (local pop-star) confirming his order of a new Right Hand Drive Zonda C12S..
BUT.. this is terrible news considering this young man "probably" paid for his license, and has in the last 12 months crashed both his F360 modena, 911 turbo, and has spent time in a jail cell for drink driving repeatedly.. as a Zonda lover and exotic car owner, i am deeply disappointed that another rare RHD, which is better suited in the UK or Australia, should be delivered to an irresponsible road user in HK.. HK is already famous enough (for the wrong reasons) in the Zonda world.. the last time a product of a local driving school tried their Grand Turismo trained technique in a real life Zonda, it wasnt pretty!! on a brighter note -- i will post the photo's as soon as the car gets here! |

Last time the news said that Nicholas Tse has cancelled his order on a pagani zonda after paying 1 million $HKD as the down payment, because he was charged with Drink driving. (According to my information, he was planning to get a redish orange zonda) He did spend two weeks in jail and they have suspended his licence for one yr.
btw, he crashed his modena 360 and AUDI RS6, NOT 911 TURBO!! |

thats excellent news..
thanks for the correction on the 911 turbo.. RS6 it was..
i am both interested and surprised by your additional information about Tse.. are you citing Chinese press or English (translated) press locally in HK? i only read the SCMP paper last weekend etc. *confused* im sure what you are saying has basis because Zonda are known to screen their clients -- hence i was surprised he was even allowed to put down a deposit in the first place.. so where, or in what magazine, did you get this updated info? |

i read the news from a Chinese Magazine. i do believe that it wasn't Nicholas Tse's decison about buying a zonda. His boss/manager was willing to get him a zonda after he crashed his modena 360(it was also given by his manager too), therefore i guess the dealer allowed him to place a deposit because of his manager, who is a local millionaire. According to my understanding, there is only one registered zonda in HK so far, it was bought by a local billionaire.
btw, i am a HKer, but i have been living in Canada for yrs! |

ok-la..
my wife just read me the article after i went searching for it today.. it was very recent, and clearly the SCMP got their facts wrong.. turns out the emperor entertainment boss is also in trouble with the ICAC (anti corruption body), along with Mr Tse, and TVB.. other than the money they will be needing for their legal bills, it sounds like the local dealer STUTTGART INTERNATIONAL MOTORS (HOLDINGS) Ltd refunded their money, and scrubbed the order for PR reasons.. |

Well, this Nicholas Tse doesn't really have much money, his main income source is his gf. His dad gambled and lost big time, and he "sold" his son for a 10 year lease to the recording company.
poor guy.... |
