Recent trouble starting my '76 strange noise

I own a 1976 Firebird. It is in great condition for the most part - atleast I thought so. I left it outside my house for about two weeks without starting it, which I know is not a good thing, and now it won't start. The first time I tried, it started to turn over like normal (heavy vibration and very deep) but turned into a high pitched buzz. It almost sounds like my pistons are locked. When I'm turning the key it sounds like a go-cart. And it doesnt turn over. I have never heard a noise like this before and I am very worried. If anyone has any clue to what is wrong please fill me in. Thanks a lot

Thomas

Sounds like the starter is not engaging. Try hitting a couple times with a hammer
