What is fastest production car (from 0-60)?

hate to bust your bubble but the S7 runs to 60 in 3.3 seconds...unless my math is off the 2.6 seconds of the dauer would be faster.

SLCskiier: Ummm... you're kidding right? yes the S7 is fast. Ok, it's damn fast. But it is by no means the fastest to 60. The enzo ties it, according to some tests, the CC8S beats it, as does the F1LM. The MT900S Photon can certainly tie it (probably beat it but I'll say tie because of motor trends crazy test data and for the sake of argument). Then there is the TVR Speed 12, Dauer 962 which have been recently discussed that leave it in the dust.

As mentioned earlier koenigsegg makes fast cars. There's a new one now (Koenigsegg CCR) that does 0-62 mph in 3.2s and the top speed is over 242mph. I would say it's more of a production car than many other suggestions.

I'm surprised that the Tiger Z100WR is so fast in the 0-60. Not because of the engine but because of the tires. For a 2.8 second run, I'm surprised that those fairly skinny tires have enough bite.

The 1988 Chevrolet Sledgehammer Corvette made by Callaway is the fastest PRODUCTION car. and suprisingly the production model (the model they tested the speed on) doesnt even have that good of a cam? and you could easily add another 150 hp to the car!! anyway... its top is 254.7mph (409.9kph) (its only has the 0-60 of 3.9 though). Don't forget, PRODUCTION means no AFTER MARKET MODIFICATIONS!

Yea it may be the fastest top speed car..but this is a fastest from 0-60 forum in case you didn't notice, and the callaway falls behind many of the cars previously mentioned.

Porsche/Dauer - there is no substitute.

First of all, aren't the Callaway modifications technically considered to be aftermarket? Callaway doesn't/didn't make the entire car from scratch. Also, how many of these were made and were the crash tested witht he Callaway parts? Also, where exactly was this 254.7 mph top speed verified? Some answers would be appreciated.

Anyways, it's a moot point I guess because nfs is right.

I think ive heard those numbers before as well, the top speed set Oct 19, 1989 reaching 254.76 mph.The car was driven by John Lingenfelter, but its besides the point. This is a fastest 0-60 forum. And anyways the callaway is hardly a production car. there is only 1 of the cars in existence. even tho callway said they could produce them for about 400,000 they still never did. And what is callaway, but a tuned corvette?? Sure its a great car, but it sure isnt the worlds fastest production car from 0-60.

the koinsegg CCr is not the fasted production car, the 962 is. But what happens after the 60mph. The CCR does the standing 1\4 in 9 seconds flat!!!!! thats crazy bikes are doing that

the ultima gtr is the fasted production car in the world.

0-60 in 2.8 seconds
0-100 in 5.5 seconds
0-150 in 11.3, a whole second faster than the mclaren f1

and its the first car and the only car to do 0-100mph-0 in under 10 seconds. it did it in 9.8, is capable of doing it in the low 9 seconds.

it blitzes the ferrari enzo on the skidpan test and ambolishes even the most expensive cars at excellerating and all this for £30k. absolute bargin.

if this aint good enough for you there is a company called z cars that tune it from the standard 750bhp/ton to 1020bhp/ton (f1 standard) and that truly is awesome.

cant wait till they release 0-60 on the nismo z-tune skyline. best guess is around 3.0 not the fastest but for $170k id pick this over most other cars.

oh and callaway, hennessy, ect arent true production cars, theyre aftermarket tuned production cars

same with shelby, mugen, dinan, ect. ect.

the true production performance names are mopar, SVT, nismo, ralli-art, AMG, yknow, companies that are the same as the manufacturer of the car
