Rock and A Hard Place
My best friend was in a situation, where I had to become a mediator(?) between he and this girl Kathy. Now that Kathy over the past couple months we have become friends. Now they both ask me what they should do. I told him to get his shit together, to keep Kathy. But all he seems to do is hurt Kathy. I told her that if he doesn't get his act together to dump him. He is an only child and has always gotten what he wanted. It would really hurt her to dump Matt. But I have both of their best interests in mind. I am trying to protect Matt from losing a great girl which he is finally starting to realize, and protecting Kathy from Matt hurting her more then he has already done. Anybody have any advice for me.

Sounds like you're doing the best you can, man. I think I'd be stuck in the same position.
Just don't make a friend an enemy by dating what could be his ex, is my only advice. |

no, i would give the same advice. seeing how you have an interest in both parties make sure they know that the advice you are giving them is for THEIR best interest. sometimes they may think you are doin it so you can either A) try and get with Kathy and or B) have Matt for you to hang out (like guys night out and shit). it seems like you are givin them sound advice. especially if he will only hurt her more (in an emotional way i'm assuming, not physical).
as far as an only child goes, there has to come a time when they all have to learn that the world is not fair and they don't always get their ways. i have a sister so i know this just by having a sibling. some of my friends are only childs and once they learned they don't always get everything, it crushed them, but they bounced back. money can fix a lot of things for single children, but unfortunately it can't fix broken hearts (well most of the time) |

Thanks guys. I really don't think I could or would date Kathy. She is too good of a friend to lose.
