Selling a car with a lien that is not in my name.
Hello, I am new to these forums so excuse me if this is an inappropriate place to post this question. I am in a position where I need to make a move to another state and come up with the money to do so quickly. I have a 2008 car with a title for it in my name however the car has a lien on it that is not in my name. The lien is in my uncles name. Can I sell this car without any responsibility to pay off this lien? The person who initially took out the lien would still be legally obligated to make the payments, regardless if I no longer owned the vehicle, correct? I am looking to just trade it in to a dealership most likely. Is this possible? What are my options?
Thanks, Jimmy. |

i think it is possible but you`ll probably need to talk to your uncle too.

You are a real jerk off and hope you pay the price just for thinking that.

The financial company who ownes the lien will require their money before you get anything. If I knew how to get hold of your uncle I'd notify him of how deceiptful you were trying to be with him. Just remember what goes around, comes around. If you do somehow get by with it I hope your uncle beats the h--- out of you when he finds you. Under the circumstances of you trying to take advantage of your uncle, it makes me wonder if you are running from the law, being the reason you are having to move to another state so quickly.
