98 contour -- a couple problems
well i had a slightly used radiator fan assembly installed and the fans will come on when the defrost is on or the a.c. then they shut off in any other stage. all connectors are hooked up right and have replaced the temp. sensor. the temp guage goes to the L or just past it in NORMAL on the temp guage. could it be i need a new thermostat or do you all think maybe the water pump is not working? any ideas would be helpful.
secondly i just had the new wire harness for the a.c. blower installed but the blower motor cuts out or wont run at all at times. possible blower switch? thanks for the help |

Re: 98 contour -- a couple problems
If your car is overheating I would first change the thermostat. If that doesn't cool it down a little bit then I could look at the waterpump.
Which motor does your Contour have? 2.0L Zetec (4 cylinder) or the 2.5L Duratec (V6)?

Re: 98 contour -- a couple problems
The blower problem is actually a simple fix.
I had the exact same problem. I found an auto wrecker with a compatable blower for my contour and havent had a problem in 2 years since. EASIEST BLOWER TO CHANGE. EVER. |
