96 grand am se, no oil pressure

kk i bought this grand am with a bad motor, i put a motor int he car that has 80k miles, when i puit the motor in the car, i neglected to put the air dam back ont he botom of the car. apparently the air dam pushes air onto the motor, and cools it, well i plew the head gasket. well kinda, it started leeking out of the sid of the block, but not into the oil, it didnt smoke or anything, so i bought a new air dam, and changed the head gasket, when i out it all back together, i put oil in it, and started it up, i had oil pressure for like 5 secs, then all of the sudden it fell (fast) and dies, i put more oil in it ( i only had like 2.5 corts in it at that time), and i notice that it has a lil bit of a knock)) i got the next day and fill it full of oil, and try n runn it, i ran it for a combines total of like a monute, and still no oil pressure, but the knock went away, what should i do?

when i was doing the head, i went ahead and replaced the cam shaft positiong senser, is there n e way i forgot to plufg somthing up?, i have one plug that i have know idea were goes, near the alternator, but idk...

can somsone help me?

thanx
bryce

Re: 96 grand am gt no oil pressure

Welcome to AF!

What engine are we talking about here ?????

Did you connect the oil pressure sending unit ??

Also if it has zero oil pressure the engine wouldnt run.

Re: 96 grand am gt no oil pressure

thiers a few one wire in therelol
what type color is the plug & wire ?

Could be the 24x crank sensor from the back side of the motor....
....are all the plugs hooked up to the ICM ?

Could be the O2 sensor wire....

Re: 96 grand am gt no oil pressure

okay i figured out the wire problem, i had the wiring harness plugd into the wireing harnes,

befor i did the head job, iw ould be driving going about 65 and all of the sudden i would do a lil lugg-a-chug and then it would go fine again, i have beantold it was the cam shaft positioning senceor, the crank shaft positiong sence, and i ahve changed both, and it still does it, when i did the head gasket, i took some b12 carb cleaner and cleand the injectors up, and i cleand all the intake and all that, but its still doing it, what could it be?, this has me worried now

thanks
