What a ridiculous waste! Tamiya could have put its resources into another kit -one that people want to build!

I had a chance to talk to a local store owner the other day, and what surprised me was that Tamiya's sports car and race cars don't sell these days. Rather, they sell more Aoshima and Fujimi's street and tuned cars. hummm, I guess it's reflecting the fact that more and more people are buy mini vans and wagons, and that those (once) status symbols like RX-7, Supra won't survive through the tougher emission standard after this August. (sigh...)
BTW, Fujimi is going to release the final edition of RX-7, Sprit R and S15 Final Edition. Only differences are wheel or decals, I think. |

Hmm, that's very interesting but bad news...could it be reflecting Japan's economic slump?
Yeah, more people prefer cars with aftermarket body kits and rims and stuff, I know I do, but I still love a stock Japanese supercar. I hear Toyota's bB dragon van is selling real well, like you said, wagons/vans are selling real well, I guess people have to be more practical with their vehicle choices these days |
