Question 1998 F150 No reverse Auto Trans

One of my friends let someone try to get his truck unstuck and redlined it in reverse, and after that the reverse no longer works. He says it goes into gear but the wheels dont spin. Before this problem he said every now and then it would have trouble going into the reverse gear. I havent had the chance to go look at it but any ideas just from description?

Re: 1998 F150 No reverse Auto Trans

Sounds like it was a developing issue over time, and the unstuck-ing just melted whatever was left in the trans for reverse. Time to visit a junkyard or online used tranny. Not worth the money to rebuild.
