Aston Martin has built a smartcar rival and at the same time defaced the name aston martin with that car- the aston martin cygnet. I REFUSE! NO! NONONONONONO- wait- NO!

In this I do agree with you. AM's new owners don't have a clue about marketing. This Toyota retread has absolutely nothing to do with the AM brand or market.

My objections here have nothing to do with the Cygnet, it may be a great car..... but it will only dilute and do damage to the AM brand. AM buyers are wealthy enough to buy any prestige car they want. Why the hell would they want to plunk down 200+ large for a brand name that is contaminated by an inexpensive subcompact?

Does Ferrari put their name on a Fiat 500??? Of course not.

Its fine if the AM company wants to build the Cygnet. But just don't use the brand name on it. Nobody will be impressed. Everyone will see the cheezy marketing ploy and everyone will have a cynical opinion, hence the harm.
